The default vhost configuration file in Puppet before 3.6.2 does not include the SSLCARevocationCheck directive, which might allow remote attackers to obtain sensitive information via a revoked certificate when a Puppet master runs with Apache 2.4.

The bug was discovered 06/10/2014. The weakness was published 12/12/2017 as Bug 1101347 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2014-3250 since 05/07/2014. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1587.003 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

Upgrading to version 3.6.2 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published before and not just after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
