An issue was discovered in Joomla! Core before 3.8.8. Inadequate input filtering leads to a multiple XSS vulnerabilities. Additionally, the default filtering settings could potentially allow users of the default Administrator user group to perform a XSS attack.

The bug was discovered 05/05/2018. The weakness was disclosed 05/22/2018 by Security Team with FortiGuard Labs (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2018-11326 since 05/21/2018. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. The successful exploitation needs a authentication. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.
