The weakness was presented 09/10/2013 by Mateusz Jurczyk and Ben Hawkes with Google Security Team as APSB13-21 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at adobe.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-3363 since 05/06/2013. The exploitation appears to be difficult. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The structure of the vulnerability defines a possible price range of USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 05/24/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product decreasing in the near future.

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 69865 (Adobe AIR <= 3.8.0.870 Memory Corruptions (APSB13-21)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Windows. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 121447 (Adobe Flash Player and AIR Multiple Vulnerabilities (APSB13-21)).
