register.ghp in EFS Software Easy Chat Server versions 2.0 to 3.1 allows remote attackers to reset arbitrary passwords via a crafted POST request to registresult.htm.

The bug was discovered 06/09/2017. The weakness was disclosed 06/12/2017 as EDB-ID 42154 as not defined exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is available at exploit-db.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-9543 since 06/11/2017. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
