Pulp before 2.8.5 uses bash's $RANDOM in an unsafe way to generate passwords.
The bug was discovered 04/25/2016. The weakness was presented 06/13/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at lists.fedoraproject.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2016-3704 since 03/30/2016. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely.
