Hard-coded credentials in AmosConnect 8 allow remote attackers to gain full administrative privileges, including the ability to execute commands on the Microsoft Windows host platform with SYSTEM privileges by abusing AmosConnect Task Manager.
The bug was discovered 07/20/2017. The weakness was released 07/22/2017 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is shared for download at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-3222 since 12/05/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
