The wwunpack function in libclamav/wwunpack.c in ClamAV 0.99.2 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (use-after-free) via a crafted PE file with WWPack compression.
The bug was discovered 08/06/2017. The weakness was released 08/07/2017 as Bug 11798 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.clamav.net. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-6420 since 03/01/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
