The row_is_empty function in base/4bitmap.c:272 in minidjvu 0.8 can cause a denial of service (invalid memory read and application crash) via a crafted djvu file.
The bug was discovered 08/07/2017. The weakness was released 08/17/2017 by qflb.wu as not defined mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-12442 since 08/04/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
