The ReverbConvolverStage::ReverbConvolverStage function in core/platform/audio/ReverbConvolverStage.cpp in the Web Audio implementation in Blink, as used in Google Chrome before 30.0.1599.66, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds read) via vectors related to the impulseResponse array.

The weakness was shared 10/01/2013 by Byoungyoung Lee and Tielei Wang as 281480 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at code.google.com. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-2917 since 04/11/2013. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $5k-$25k (estimation calculated on 05/26/2021). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.
