Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the Splash Portal in Cloud4Wi before 5.9.7 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the recoveryMessage parameter to the default URI.

The bug was discovered 12/11/2015. The weakness was published 08/24/2017 as not defined mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared for download at seclists.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-4699 since 06/19/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
