wpa_supplicant 2.0-16 does not properly check certificate subject name, which allows remote attackers to cause a man-in-the-middle attack.
The bug was discovered 01/05/2015. The weakness was presented 08/28/2017 as Bug 1178263 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is shared for download at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2015-0210 since 11/18/2014. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1587.003.
