An out-of-bounds read in V8 in Google Chrome prior to 57.0.2987.133 for Linux, Windows, and Mac, and 57.0.2987.132 for Android, allowed a remote attacker to obtain heap memory contents via a crafted HTML page.

The bug was discovered 03/29/2017. The weakness was published 10/27/2017 by Jeonghoon Shin with Zimperium zLabs (Website). The advisory is shared for download at security.gentoo.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-5054 since 01/02/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The current price for an exploit might be approx. USD $0-$5k (estimation calculated on 01/04/2023). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product increasing in the near future.
