Insufficient validation of untrusted input in Skia in Google Chrome prior to 59.0.3071.86 for Linux, Windows, and Mac, and 59.0.3071.92 for Android, allowed a remote attacker to perform an out of bounds memory read via a crafted HTML page.

The bug was discovered 06/05/2017. The weakness was released 10/27/2017 by Andrey Kovalev with Qihoo 360 Vulcan Team (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at security.gentoo.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-5077 since 01/02/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
