Inappropriate implementation in Omnibox in Google Chrome prior to 60.0.3112.78 for Linux, Windows, and Mac allowed a remote attacker to spoof the contents of the Omnibox via a crafted HTML page.
The bug was discovered 07/25/2017. The weakness was published 10/27/2017 by Takeshi Terada with Ant-financial Light-Year Security Lab (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at security.gentoo.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-5101 since 01/02/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not publicly available. The pricing for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 01/05/2023).
