Insufficient Policy Enforcement in Omnibox in Google Chrome prior to 60.0.3112.78 for Mac, Windows, Linux, and Android allowed a remote attacker to perform domain spoofing via IDN homographs in a crafted domain name.
The bug was discovered 07/25/2017. The weakness was published 10/27/2017 by Takeshi Terada with Ant-financial Light-Year Security Lab (Website). The advisory is shared for download at security.gentoo.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-5106 since 01/02/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
