The ManageEngine ServiceDesk 9.3.9328 is vulnerable to arbitrary file downloads due to improper restrictions of the pathname used in the filepath parameter for the download-file URL. An unauthenticated remote attacker can use this vulnerability to download arbitrary files.
The bug was discovered 11/08/2017. The weakness was shared 11/08/2017 by Jacob Baines with Tenable Network Security (Website). The advisory is shared at securityfocus.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-11511 since 07/21/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1592 for this issue.
