A non-privileged user is able to mount a fuse filesystem on RHEL 6 or 7 and crash a system if an application punches a hole in a file that does not end aligned to a page boundary.
The bug was discovered 12/05/2017. The weakness was released 12/07/2017 as Bug 1520893 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-15121 since 10/08/2017. The exploitation appears to be easy. Attacking locally is a requirement. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication.
