An issue was discovered in Adobe Flash Player 27.0.0.183 and earlier versions. This vulnerability is an instance of a use after free vulnerability in the Primetime SDK metadata functionality. The mismatch between an old and a new object can provide an attacker with unintended memory access -- potentially leading to code corruption, control-flow hijack, or an information leak attack. Successful exploitation could lead to arbitrary code execution.

The bug was discovered 11/14/2017. The weakness was disclosed 12/09/2017 by bo13oy with Zero Day Initiative (Website). The advisory is shared at security.gentoo.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-11225 since 07/13/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available. The price for an exploit might be around USD $0-$5k at the moment (estimation calculated on 01/17/2023). It is expected to see the exploit prices for this product decreasing in the near future.
