A vulnerability classified as critical has been found in KildClient up to 3.0.x. This affects an unknown part of the file prefs.c of the component URL Handler. The manipulation of the argument BROWSER
as part of a Environment Variable leads to a injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-74. The product constructs all or part of a command, data structure, or record using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify how it is parsed or interpreted when it is sent to a downstream component. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability. The summary by CVE is:
KildClient 3.1.0 does not validate strings before launching the program specified by the BROWSER environment variable, which might allow remote attackers to conduct argument-injection attacks via a crafted URL, related to prefs.c and worldgui.c.
