Microsoft Edge in Microsoft Windows 10 Gold, 1511, 1607, 1703, 1709, and Windows Server 2016 allows an attacker to obtain information to further compromise the user's system, due to how the scripting engine handles objects in memory, aka "Scripting Engine Information Disclosure Vulnerability". This CVE ID is unique from CVE-2018-0767 and CVE-2018-0800.
The bug was discovered 01/03/2018. The weakness was shared 01/03/2018 by lokihardt with Google Project Zero as confirmed security update guide (Website). The advisory is available at portal.msrc.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-0780 since 12/01/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. An information disclosure vulnerability exists when the scripting engine does not properly handle objects in memory in Microsoft Edge. An attacker who successfully exploited the vulnerability could obtain information to further compromise the user’s system.
