In MuPDF 1.12.0, there is an infinite loop vulnerability and application hang in the pdf_parse_array function (pdf/pdf-parse.c) because EOF is not considered. Remote attackers could leverage this vulnerability to cause a denial of service via a crafted pdf file.
The bug was discovered 01/13/2018. The weakness was presented 01/14/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared at bugs.ghostscript.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2018-5686 since 01/13/2018. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
