CVSS Meta Temp Score
CVSS is a standardized scoring system to determine possibilities of attacks. The Temp Score considers temporal factors like disclosure, exploit and countermeasures. The unique Meta Score calculates the average score of different sources to provide a normalized scoring system.
Current Exploit Price (≈)
Our analysts are monitoring exploit markets and are in contact with vulnerability brokers. The range indicates the observed or calculated exploit price to be seen on exploit markets. A good indicator to understand the monetary effort required for and the popularity of an attack.
CTI Interest Score
Our Cyber Threat Intelligence team is monitoring different web sites, mailing lists, exploit markets and social media networks. The CTI Interest Score identifies the interest of attackers and the security community for this specific vulnerability in real-time. A high score indicates an elevated risk to be targeted for this vulnerability.

A vulnerability was found in Drupal up to 7.23 (Content Management System). It has been classified as critical. Affected is an unknown part of the file .htaccess of the component Code Execution Prevetion. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a security check vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-358. The product does not implement or incorrectly implements one or more security-relevant checks as specified by the design of a standardized algorithm, protocol, or technique. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

The weakness was presented 11/20/2013 by Lee Rowlands, Miquel Jacq, artfulrobot and Dave Fletcher with Drupal Security Team as SA-CORE-2013-003 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at drupal.org. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1211 by the MITRE ATT&CK project. The advisory points out:

...sites would only be vulnerable if they are hosted on a server which contains code that does not use protections similar to those found in Drupal's file API to manage uploads in a safe manner.

Upgrading to version 7.24 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. The advisory contains the following remark:

To fix this issue, you must edit or replace the old .htaccess files manually. Copies of the .htaccess files are found in the site's files directory and temporary files directory, and (for Drupal 7 only) the separate private files directory if your site is configured to use one.
