The manipulation of the argument name with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-80. The product receives input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special characters such as "<", ">", and "&" that could be interpreted as web-scripting elements when they are sent to a downstream component that processes web pages. Impacted is confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

The weakness was presented 11/20/2013 by Benjamin Kunz Mejri with Vulnerability Research Laboratory as Appologics AirBeam v1.9.2 iOS - Multiple Web Vulnerabilities as not defined mailinglist post (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at seclists.org. The vendor was not involved in the coordination of the public release. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

After immediately, there has been an exploit disclosed. It is declared as proof-of-concept.

Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem.
