A vulnerability was found in Squid Proxy up to 2.5.STABLE7 (Firewall Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the component LDAP Username Handler. squid_ldap_auth in Squid 2.5 and earlier allows remote authenticated users to bypass username-based Access Control Lists (ACLs) via a username with a space at the beginning or end, which is ignored by the LDAP server.
The weakness was presented 01/19/2005 by Andrew P with Squid Team (Website). The advisory is shared for download at squid-cache.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2005-0173 since 01/27/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.
