An information disclosure vulnerability exists in the iConfig proxy request of Zabbix server 2.4.X. A specially crafted iConfig proxy request can cause the Zabbix server to send the configuration information of any Zabbix proxy, resulting in information disclosure. An attacker can make requests from an active Zabbix proxy to trigger this vulnerability.
The bug was discovered 04/09/2018. The weakness was shared 04/09/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at talosintelligence.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-2826 since 12/01/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1592.
The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 176638 (Debian Security Update for zabbix (DLA 1708-1)).
