Mediawiki before 1.28.1 / 1.27.2 contains an unsafe use of temporary directory, where having LocalisationCache directory default to system tmp directory is insecure.

The bug was discovered 04/06/2018. The weakness was published 04/13/2018 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at lists.wikimedia.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-0367 since 11/29/2016. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
