Using remote content in encrypted messages can lead to the disclosure of plaintext. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird ESR < 52.8 and Thunderbird < 52.8.
The bug was discovered 05/18/2018. The weakness was disclosed 06/11/2018 by Damian Poddebniak (Basti) as Bug 1411592 as confirmed bug report (Bugzilla). It is possible to read the advisory at bugzilla.mozilla.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2018-5184 since 01/03/2018. The exploitability is told to be easy.
