A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Google Chrome (Web Browser). Affected is the function PolygonShape::shapePaddingBounds
of the file rendering/shapes/PolygonShape.cpp. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-119. The weakness was presented 11/14/2013 by Hans Muller as Tracking bug for internal security fixes for Chrome 32, Release 0 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at code.google.com. The public release was coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2013-6644 since 11/05/2013. The exploitability is told to be difficult. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The bugfix is ready for download at trac.webkit.org. The best possible mitigation is suggested to be upgrading to the latest version.
