Adding method ACLs in remap.config can cause a segfault when the user makes a carefully crafted request. This affects versions Apache Traffic Server (ATS) 6.0.0 to 6.2.2 and 7.0.0 to 7.1.3. To resolve this issue users running 6.x should upgrade to 6.2.3 or later versions and 7.x users should upgrade to 7.1.4 or later versions.
The bug was discovered 08/28/2018. The weakness was shared 08/29/2018 by ryan (Website). The advisory is shared at lists.apache.org. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2018-1318 since 12/06/2017. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.

Upgrading to version 6.2.3 or 7.1.4 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published 3 days after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
