The Belkin WeMo Home Automation firmware before 3949 does not maintain a set of Certification Authority public keys, which allows man-in-the-middle attackers to spoof SSL servers via an arbitrary X.509 certificate.
The weakness was shared 02/18/2014 by Mike Davis with IOActive as VU#656302 as confirmed vulnerability note (CERT.org). The advisory is available at kb.cert.org. The vendor cooperated in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-6951 since 12/04/2013. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1600 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
