NVIDIA GeForce Experience prior to 3.15 contains a vulnerability when GameStream is enabled which sets incorrect permissions on a file, which may to code execution, denial of service, or escalation of privileges by users with system access.

The bug was discovered 09/27/2018. The weakness was presented 10/02/2018 (Website). The advisory is available at nvidia.custhelp.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2018-6261 since 01/24/2018. Local access is required to approach this attack. Required for exploitation is a simple authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1222 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
