A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in Microsoft Windows (Operating System). Affected by this issue is an unknown functionality of the component PowerShell. The successful exploitation needs a simple authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 118916 (KB4467691: Windows 10 Version 1607 and Windows Server 2016 November 2018 Security Update), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 91481 (Microsoft Windows Security Update November 2018).
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
