Use-after-free vulnerability in core/dom/ContainerNode.cpp in Blink, as used in Google Chrome before 31.0.1650.48, allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service or possibly have unspecified other impact by leveraging improper handling of DOM range objects in circumstances that require child node removal after a (1) mutation or (2) blur event.

The weakness was disclosed 04/01/2014 by Cloudfuzzer as HT6181 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2013-6625 since 11/05/2013. The exploitation is known to be difficult. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The advisory points out:

Visiting a maliciously crafted website may lead to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution

The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 72962 (Apple TV < 6.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment. It is assigned to the family Misc.. The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 122790 (Apple iTunes Prior to 12.0.1 Multiple Vulnerabilities (HT6537)).

Upgrading eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability. The advisory contains the following remark:
