Incorrect handling of blob URLS in Site Isolation in Google Chrome prior to 71.0.3578.80 allowed a remote attacker who had compromised the renderer process to bypass site isolation protections via a crafted HTML page.

The bug was discovered 12/04/2018. The weakness was published 12/11/2018 by Guang Gong with Qihoo 360 (Website). The advisory is shared at chromereleases.googleblog.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2018-18345 since 10/15/2018. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. No form of authentication is needed for exploitation.
