A SQL injection flaw was found in katello's errata-related API. An authenticated remote attacker can craft input data to force a malformed SQL query to the backend database, which will leak internal IDs. This is issue is related to an incomplete fix for CVE-2016-3072. Version 3.10 and older is vulnerable.

The bug was discovered 08/30/2018. The weakness was presented 12/14/2018 as not defined bug report (Bugzilla). The advisory is available at bugzilla.redhat.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2018-14623 since 07/27/2018. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. Required for exploitation is a authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 105 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $0-$5k.
