An issue was discovered in Joomla! before 3.9.2. Inadequate checks of the Global Configuration helpurl settings allowed stored XSS.

The bug was discovered 01/01/2019. The weakness was published 01/16/2019 by Basti (Website). The advisory is shared for download at developer.joomla.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-6262 since 01/14/2019. The attack can be initiated remotely. The requirement for exploitation is a single authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
