The FTP client for Solaris 2.6, 7, and 8 with the debug (-d) flag enabled displays the user password on the screen during login.
The weakness was presented 02/28/2003 with Sun Microsystems Inc. (Website). The advisory is shared at sunsolve.sun.com. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2003-1078 since 02/08/2005. Access to the local network is required for this attack to succeed. The exploitation doesn't need any form of authentication. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1555 for this issue.
