The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with the vendor. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2019-0670 since 11/26/2018. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available. The advisory points out:
A spoofing vulnerability exists in Microsoft SharePoint when the application does not properly parse HTTP content. An attacker who successfully exploited this vulnerability could trick a user by redirecting the user to a specially crafted website. The specially crafted website could either spoof content or serve as a pivot the chain an attach with other vulnerabilities in web services.
The commercial vulnerability scanner Qualys is able to test this issue with plugin 110330 (Microsoft Office and Microsoft Office Services and Web Apps Security Update February 2019).
Applying a patch is able to eliminate this problem. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
The vulnerability is also documented in the vulnerability database at SecurityFocus (BID 106863†). The entries VDB-130777, VDB-130778, VDB-130785 and VDB-130821 are pretty similar.
