The manipulation of the argument sys_jdbc with an unknown input leads to a cross site scripting vulnerability (Reflected). CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-80. The weakness was released 03/04/2019 by Ece Orsel with Biznet Bilisim A.S. as SAP J2EE Engine/7.01/Fiori Reflected Cross Site Scripting (XSS) as confirmed mailinglist post (Full-Disclosure). The advisory is shared at seclists.org. The public release was coordinated with SAP. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2018-17864 since 10/01/2018. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available. MITRE ATT&CK project uses the attack technique T1059.007 for this issue.

The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 235 days. During that time the estimated underground price was around $5k-$25k.
