Samba 4.10.x before 4.10.5 has a NULL pointer dereference, leading to an AD DC LDAP server Denial of Service. This is related to an attacker using the paged search control. The attacker must have directory read access in order to attempt an exploit.

The weakness was shared 06/19/2019 (Website). The advisory is available at usn.ubuntu.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2019-12436 since 05/28/2019. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
