The weakness was presented 05/17/1996 as FreeBSD-SA-96:10 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is shared at ftp.freebsd.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-1999-1314. The exploitation is known to be easy. An attack has to be approached locally. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
