An issue was discovered on V-Zug Combi-Steam MSLQ devices before Ethernet R07 and before WLAN R05. There is no bruteforce protection (e.g., lockout) established. An attacker might be able to bruteforce the password to authenticate on the device.

The public release was coordinated in cooperation with V-Zug. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2019-17215. The exploitability is told to be difficult. The attack can only be done within the local network. The successful exploitation needs a authentication. Technical details are unknown but a private exploit is available. The advisory points out:

Upgrading to version Ethernet R07 or WLAN R05 eliminates this vulnerability.
