The weakness was published 05/04/2005 (Website). The advisory is available at docs.info.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2005-1338 since 04/27/2005. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit. This vulnerability is assigned to T1600 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
The vulnerability scanner Nessus provides a plugin with the ID 18189 (Mac OS X Multiple Vulnerabilities (Security Update 2005-005)), which helps to determine the existence of the flaw in a target environment.
