Buffer overflows in Bisonware FTP server prior to 4.1 allow remote attackers to cause a denial of service, and possibly execute arbitrary commands, via long (1) USER, (2) LIST, or (3) CWD commands.

The weakness was released 05/17/1999 by Arne Vidstrom as confirmed posting (NTBugtraq). The advisory is shared for download at marc.theaimsgroup.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-1999-1510.
