A vulnerability was found in Microsoft IIS 3.0/4.0 (Web Server) and classified as critical. This issue affects some unknown processing of the component Asian Language Handler. When IIS is run with a default language of Chinese, Korean, or Japanese, it allows a remote attacker to view the source code of certain files, a.k.a. "Double Byte Code Page".
The issue has been introduced in 05/15/1997. The weakness was presented 08/19/1999 with Microsoft (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.microsoft.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-1999-0725. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation.
