When a Web site redirects the browser to another site, Internet Explorer 3.02 and 4.0 automatically resends authentication information to the second site, aka the "Page Redirect Issue."
The issue has been introduced in 03/20/1997. The weakness was shared 12/31/1999 as confirmed knowledge base article (Website). The advisory is available at support.microsoft.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-1999-1473. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
