Legacy pairing and secure-connections pairing authentication in Bluetooth® BR/EDR Core Specification v5.2 and earlier may allow an unauthenticated user to complete authentication without pairing credentials via adjacent access. An unauthenticated, adjacent attacker could impersonate a Bluetooth BR/EDR master or slave to pair with a previously paired remote device to successfully complete the authentication procedure without knowing the link key.
The weakness was disclosed 05/19/2020 as confirmed advisory (CERT.org). The advisory is available at kb.cert.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2020-10135 since 03/05/2020. The attack can only be done within the local network. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available. This vulnerability is assigned to T1562.010 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
