The product uses CRLF (carriage return line feeds) as a special element, e.g. to separate lines or records, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes CRLF sequences from inputs. urllib3 before 1.25.9 allows CRLF injection if the attacker controls the HTTP request method, as demonstrated by inserting CR and LF control characters in the first argument of putrequest(). NOTE: this is similar to CVE-2020-26116.

The weakness was released 09/30/2020. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2020-26137 since 09/29/2020. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.

Upgrading to version 1.25.9 eliminates this vulnerability.
