The weakness was released 12/31/2000 by Michal Zalewski (FIRST) (Website). The advisory is shared at archives.neohapsis.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2000-1236 since 07/14/2005. The exploitability is told to be easy. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely.
