A vulnerability was found in DC Scripts DCForum up to 6.0 (Forum Software). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file cgforum.cgi. The manipulation of the argument forum with an unknown input leads to a privileges management vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-269. DCForum cgforum.cgi CGI script allows remote attackers to read arbitrary files, and delete the program itself, via a malformed "forum" variable.

The weakness was presented 11/16/2000 by FIRST with isec (Website). The advisory is shared for download at cgisecurity.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2000-1132. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1068.

A public exploit has been developed in Perl. It is possible to download the exploit at securityfocus.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept.
